Job IntroductionKick-start your career with Portsmouth City Council as a Transport Delivery Assistant Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Level 3 Business Administration qualification while earning a salary and developing valuable workplace skills, helping to deliver transport projects and improvements that make a real difference to people across the city.
Your new role
As a Transport Delivery Assistant Apprentice, you will help support the day-to-day work of the Transport Delivery Team, helping to keep projects and services running smoothly. You will be supported to respond to enquiries, assist with traffic and transport consultations, help investigate requests from residents and stakeholders, prepare reports and information, process purchase orders and invoices, and work closely with colleagues across the council while building valuable administrative and communication skills.

Regardless of your age, previous experience or qualifications (although you must be at least 16 years of age and not in full-time education), we welcome applications from those that show potential, determination and a drive to succeed.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised with good numerical skills.
- A clear communicator who enjoys working with people
- Customer-focused and keen to learn
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office and IT systems
- Ready to take initiative and manage tasks working to agreed timeframes.

We offer hybrid working with the expectation to attend the office minimum 2 days a week (pro rata for part time), this remains flexible, depending on the role and subject to business needs.
