Transactional Finance Manager

Salary: Up to £80,000

Location: West Midlands (Hybrid)

Type: Permanent

The Opportunity

An established and growing business is looking to appoint a Transactional Finance Manager to lead its core finance operations function. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and financial controls across a multi-site environment.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll play a pivotal role in driving process improvements, enhancing service levels and developing a high-performing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transactional finance leader looking to make a tangible impact within a business that values continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a large transactional finance function, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control activities.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, processes and governance are maintained.
  • Drive improvements in efficiency, automation and standardisation across finance operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and service levels across the function.
  • Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Support month-end and year-end activities where required.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve the customer and supplier experience.
  • Manage workload planning, resource allocation and team succession planning.
  • Contribute to finance projects, system enhancements and process optimisation initiatives.

About You

  • Proven experience leading a sizeable transactional finance, shared services or finance operations team.
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control processes.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates will be considered.
