Job Description
Trainee White Goods Engineer

Location: Carlisle, Carlisle Customer Service Centre

Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience, plus quarterly bonus

Shift Pattern: Average of 41 hours per week, working 5 over 7 days (some Saturdays on a rostered basis), no Sundays

Recruiting Areas: CA, LA, DG, and TD

If successful, you will start on Monday 9th June and need to be available for the first 4 weeks for induction and initial training.

We are looking for Trainee White Goods Engineers to join our White Goods Repair Team. Our team boasts industry-leading NPS and world-class first-visit fix rates. As a Trainee White Goods Engineer, you will bring basic electrical knowledge and receive comprehensive training to become a fully qualified White Goods Engineer within 2-4 months. Your role will involve diagnosing faults, installing, repairing appliances, and building rapport with customers to ensure positive experiences.

Role overview:

Responsibilities include:

  1. Testing, diagnosing, and repairing white goods in customers' homes
  2. Applying technical knowledge across various white goods appliances
  3. Managing a company van and organizing your daily schedule
  4. Enhancing our reputation as a home services expert

To succeed, you should demonstrate excellent customer service skills and experience engaging positively with customers.

Requirements:

  • Experience in repair or installation involving electric or electro-mechanical products (e.g., field services, trainee plumbing or electrical work, domestic electrical installation)
  • Basic electrical competence in theory and practice
  • Ability to handle heavy appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers
  • A full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points
