Salary: £38,682 - £46,580 (Annual) progressing to Band 6 on completion of training.

Job overview

We are seeking two UK NMC Registered Nurses with post qualification experience who are seeking a career in Occupational Health. The post holder will receive on the job training and can gain further qualifications in Occupational Health Practice. Upon completion of training and competency, progression to Band 6 follows.

A note on visa sponsorship - This role is eligible for UKVI Skilled Worker sponsorship where applicants meet the relevant skill and salary thresholds.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be trained to undertake a wide range of OH services including:

  • Health clearance assessments based on Department of Health guidance and local policy.
  • Provision of fitness for work advice to Trust managers and staff.
  • Assessment of sharps injuries.
  • Undertaking clinical audits.
  • Workplace vaccinations at Worthing and St Richard's Hospitals.
Detailed responsibilities
  • Responsible and accountable for specialist advice given to managers and staff.
  • Assess fitness to work and provide recommendations, including adjustments, in line with the Equality Act 2010.
  • Recognise when further advice is required and take appropriate action.
  • Request medical reports when additional information is needed.
  • Maintain accurate written records and produce typed reports following assessments.
  • Participate in health surveillance if required.
  • Undertake and participate in clinical audits.
  • Assess staff exposure to blood and body fluids, arranging follow up care where indicated.
  • Carry out venepuncture and vaccination clinics as required.
Person specification NMC registration with post qualification experience
  • Registered in the UK general nurse.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Interest in Occupational Health as a specialism
  • Demonstrated genuine interest in Occupational Health.
Experience
  • Occupational Health experience.
  • Experience working in an autonomous role.
  • Venepuncture experience.
  • Administration of vaccinations.
