Trainee Necropsy Scientist

to join our team near Alconbury, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday - 37.5hrs

Job Responsibilities
  • After training, performing basic routine macroscopic necropsy techniques including trimming and retaining all organs from a wide range of species
  • Performing non-routine tasks such as freezing tissues
  • Preparation of reagents
  • Animal handling and euthanasia procedures in accordance with legal requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Additional Job Standards
  • GSCE levels in Science, Biology, Maths and English
  • Some experience within an Animal Necropsy team within a CRO and have GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) knowledge
  • Anatomy and dissection experience
  • If no experience then training will be provided
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple studies
  • Attention to detail and consistent accuracy whilst managing multiple changing priorities

Due to the remote location of this site, there are no public transport links available.

The Trainee Necropsy Scientist will undertake training to develop the skills and knowledge required to perform routine necropsy procedures to the required quality and quantity thresholds.
