Town Planner

Our busy and successful, inter-disciplinary Birmingham Office is conveniently located within the heart of the city centre with easy access to public transport, including walking distance from New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill Stations. We have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join the team, working on a broad range of planning projects from residential, mixed use, commercial, industrial and employment developments through Development Plan promotion and planning applications and appeals.

You will be a chartered Town Planner (or working towards chartership) ideally with some residential planning experience. We prefer local knowledge of and a track record of working in the Midlands region but are open to relocators for the right person. Your role will include:

• Promoting large to medium scale residential, mixed use, employment and other developments (both brownfield and greenfield) through the Local Development Framework and coordinating subsequent planning applications.
• Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base.
• Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications of all sizes/types.
• Preparation of planning statements of community engagement.
• Lodging appeals and assisting with preparing evidence for hearings.
• Developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Co ordination of internal and external project teams and project management of schemes.
