The roleThis position is suited to an experienced and enthusiastic gardener with strong horticultural knowledge and an interest in sustainable gardening practices.The successful candidate will be given responsibility for maintaining and developing a designated area of the gardens, working under the guidance of the Head Gardener and Senior Gardener. The role involves maintaining gardens to an exceptionally high standard, enhancing and developing planting schemes using sound horticultural knowledge, and contributing to a variety of garden projects both independently and as part of the wider team. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the safe operation of a range of horticultural machinery and equipment, while managing workloads effectively and balancing routine maintenance with seasonal team tasks.The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, excellent time-management skills and a commitment to maintaining the Club's high standards. They will embody the Club's core values of excellence, responsibility and courtesy, while remaining professional, friendly and diplomatic in a busy working environment. The CandidateThe ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for horticulture, wildlife and biodiversity, together with knowledge of environmentally sustainable gardening practices.Experience operating tractors and small horticultural machinery is desirable, and a PA1/PA6 spraying certificate would be advantageous but is not essential.
