TXM are pleased to be working with a rolling stock client who are looking for multiple test engineers on a temporary contract.

We are looking for individuals with hands-on experience in testing and validation-particularly of engines, transmissions, power packs, or cooler groups. Ideal candidates will have a good understanding of diesel engine systems, as well as electrical and electronic control systems.

Responsibilities:

• Installation into the test cells and testing of production power products in line with work instructions
• To ensure that products meet the testing requirements
• Ensure recording of accurate data to guarantee traceability
• Ensure all documentation is up to date and accurately recorded
• Help develop testing requirements for future products
• Have the ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
• Liaise with production when required on technical issues
• Liaise with colleagues and work as a team when required

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a testing, validation, or similar technical role.
• Knowledge or exposure to diesel engines, transmissions, or rail power systems.
• Strong fault-finding abilities across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Effective communication skills and a proactive team player attitude.
• Basic IT/computer skills for data logging and reporting.
• Engineering qualification is advantageous, but not essential-we value hands-on expertise and practical understanding.
