Role Overview

Mercer Marsh Benefit (MMB) is a global leader in employee benefits consulting and management. MMB is a business of Marsh & McLennan. The UK business is recruiting an experienced Technology/Business Product Owner to lead and drive the success of our technology platforms and deliver business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide vision and leadership in the ongoing development of our business technology.
  • Serve as the primary business owner for the UK business's technology platforms, ensuring the technology delivers the best outcome to our teams, clients and the business.
  • Manage the UK platform helpdesk team to best support the business.
  • Work with the business to define and drive the vision, functionality, features and requirements of the platforms.
  • Work closely with global Product Owners to align on the platform roadmap and action plans.
  • Own, maintain and prioritise requirements and effective delivery of those requirements aligned to business priorities and outcomes.
  • Work closely with technology teams to translate business requirements to technical solutions and ensure appropriate testing and validation of outcomes.
  • Drive platform adoption and engagement by working with stakeholders and colleagues to ensure clarity of understanding, appropriate training and communications.
  • Support compliance, security, and governance requirements from a business perspective.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the platform's capabilities and areas for development and improvement aligned to business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of business activities to drive business outcomes.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the product and make data driven decisions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback and iterating on product features and processes.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a Product Owner, systems analyst or business analyst role with proven experience of implementing system requirements.
  • Effective communication skills across both technical and business stakeholders.
  • The curiosity and enthusiasm to create simple and effective solutions for business problems.
  • The ability and desire to develop close relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influencing skills to deliver business outcomes.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office knowledge, including Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with product and workflow management tools (e.g., Aha, ADO, Confluence).
  • In depth understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and working knowledge of Agile Frameworks.
  • Experience of working within the Insurance Industry.
  • Ability to prioritise features and tasks based on business value, customer impact, and resource availability and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
