Are you an experienced Generator Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step in your career?

A leading provider of temporary power solutions is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a modern rental fleet, support major projects across the UK, and become a key technical expert within a highly respected business.

The Role

Working within the Technical Support Team, you will provide engineering support across a nationwide depot network and customer sites. You'll act as a technical escalation point for engineers, assisting with fault diagnosis, commissioning, repairs, upgrades, and specialist customer requirements.

This is a varied and challenging role, combining hands-on engineering with technical expertise, mentoring, and project support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers and customers across multiple locations
  • Diagnose and resolve generator, electrical, and control system faults
  • Commission, repair, modify, and upgrade power generation equipment
  • Support the introduction of new equipment and engineering improvements
  • Conduct site surveys, commissioning visits, and technical investigations
  • Assist with engineering training and mentoring activities
  • Support major projects and specialist customer requirements
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within power generation, diesel engines, plant equipment, electrical systems, or related engineering sectors.

You'll Ideally Have:

  • A recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent)
  • An apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or significant industry experience
  • Proven experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing generator sets
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of LV distribution and changeover systems
  • Previous experience in a field service or technical support role
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team
  • A full UK driving licence

An electrical bias and ECS Card would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
