A role focused on owning large customer issues, providing level two support, troubleshooting, debugging, networking, system administration, documentation, and coding/scripting within the Google Cloud Platform. Requires shift work, non standard hours, and weekend availability.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 9+ years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs, triaging technical issues (hardware, software, application, operational, process).
- Experience with one scripting or coding language (e.g., Python, shell scripting).
- Experience operating system kernel, file systems, and TCP/IP network protocols (DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing).
- Systems experience (Linux, Unix) or a similar OS (macOS, Windows).
- Experience with Kubernetes or container networking.
- Experience with software defined networking (SDN) in public cloud environments or SDN software.
- Familiarity with HTTP protocol and HTTP based APIs.
- Familiarity with network namespaces, packet capture techniques, and packet capture interpretation.
- Knowledge of network specific kernel parameters (TCP keepalives, TCP windows, etc.).
- Collaborate with a global team to deliver 24/7 customer support, including occasional shifts and weekend work.
- Diagnose, resolve, or implement new investigation tools to increase productivity on Google Cloud Platform products.
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles.
- Develop deep understanding of Google Cloud networking technologies and their internal implementation.
- Improve supportability of Google Cloud networking technologies by partnering with product engineering, collaborating on product launches, and conveying customer issues to improve existing products.
- Maintain and improve documentation, tools, and processes to help customers adopt and use products more easily.
- Salary: Ireland €104,000-107,000 (EUR) plus 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
- Salary: Poland zł332,000-341,000 (PLN) plus 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
