What You'll DoAs a Lead Technical Architect, you'll play a key role in shaping digital solutions that serve communities and create lasting positive impact. You will:
- Design scalable, secure, user-centred technical architectures
- Guide clients in making the right technology choices
- Produce high-quality architectural documentation, models, and designs
- Support development teams in turning architecture into reality
- Lead workstreams or small/medium engagements
- Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team culture
This role blends architecture leadership, hands-on technical oversight, and close client partnership.
What You BringEssential:
- Significant experience architecting complex digital services
- Knowledge of enterprise systems, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), APIs, integration patterns
- Familiarity with modelling standards (C4, ArchiMate, UML)
- Strong communication skills across diverse audiences
- Experience working in agile and consultancy environments
- Ability to guide architecture through governance processes
- A technology-agnostic mindset
- Understanding of user-centred design principles
Desirable:
- Experience with public sector standards (Technology Code of Practice, GDS Service Assessments, NHS platforms)
- Experience working in remote, multidisciplinary teams
