Job Description

On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Technical Solution Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6 month hybrid contract based once a week in Exeter.

Note: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position, (and speed at which we require a postholder in situ), preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance

The Met Office Corporate Technology department requires an innovative Technical Solution Architect to develop systems architecture that will meet business needs.

The successful individual will initially focus on two workstreams:
. The Met Office is in the early stages of replacing its Human Resources Management system, and the Technical Solution Architect is expected to provide significant input to this project.
. The Met Office's ServiceNow platform is being widely exploited across the organisation, so expertise in ServiceNow would be desirable.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous. The wider team also makes extensive use of several SaaS products, including Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), GitHub, Lucid, Mural, and Artifactory, so skills in these products would strengthen an application.

As a Technical Solution Architect in Corporate Technology, you will:
. Work with specific projects to provide architectural assurance that the right approaches are being taken.
. Collaborate with product owners and service managers to support activities during solution ideation, design, and implementation.
. Provide general technical oversight and governance for work carried out on the main IT platforms within the local team.
. Offer support and advice to various teams in the department, particularly in guiding internal improvement activities on the platforms mentioned above.
