The Opportunity
To support the growth of Arup's Energy Business in the UKIMEA region, we offer an opportunity for aspiring leaders to join our HV Networks team as a Technical Lead. Based in Manchester, the team operates across the UK and provides design and advisory services to utilities, renewable energy developers, local authorities, and industrial facilities worldwide.
The role involves providing technical leadership, supporting project delivery, business development, and managing team resources. It includes acting as Line Manager, setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and managing personnel matters. The role also involves Project Management responsibilities to ensure successful project delivery in terms of budget, schedule, and quality, in compliance with Arup's processes.
You will contribute to strategic planning, target setting, and skill development within the team, with potential travel within the UK and internationally.
Is this role right for you?
The successful candidate will lead Power Systems tasks within multi-disciplinary projects, review models and reports, and provide expert input. Requirements include a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, Chartered Engineer status, and extensive experience in consultancy, power system studies, and team management. Skills in modeling, UK grid connection processes, and client management are preferred.
