Job Description:
If you have experience managing projects within the aviation sector, this could be the opportunity for you. As a Technical Instructions Manager at Leonardo Helicopters, you will lead a team to co-ordinate, manage and deliver technical instructions (such as Alert/Mandatory Service Bulletins, Modification Leaflets) critical to the continued operation of the aircraft; for both 101 & 159 helicopter platforms covering all supported and new variants.
This is a level 7 position on our job family framework (JFF).
What will you do as a Technical Instructions Manager?
Working in Production Services, as part of Product Support Engineering (PSE) team, you will -
• Work closely with the Technical Publications and Aircrew Production Services Managers to standardise processes; collaborating to increase efficiency/standards of quality and establishing a robust structure in preparation for the introduction of new aircraft in the future
• Have overall control and responsibility for delivering Technical Instructions, to cost, schedule and quality. Scope of activity covers both the introduction into service of new aircraft variants, modification programmes and in-service support
• Manage and agree Programme budgets to cover scope of work to be performed in conjunction with PSE Platform Team and relevant stakeholders
• Create and manage a capacity plan of the current budget and carry out forward planning of forecast future workload for both on-site and off-site work, ensuring robust planning and analysis to fully exposes any potential risks, and then put in place an effective strategy to mitigate those risks with liaison with relevant stakeholders
• Develop departmental process synergies for the production of all Technical Information Material produced by PSE, ensuring a co-ordinated and efficient approach
• Drive the quality and department KPI's and investigate process enhancements to ensure a constant improvement in quality and output , whilst maintaining a knowledge of all relevant Standards, regulations and Audit Compliance requirements, to meet both company and customer needs
• Provide effective team management with regards to Health & Wellbeing, Personal Development Management and Development/Training
This role is hybrid but a mostly on site presence is required.
What you'll bring
• Relevant experience with proven project management, working within complex programmes
• Educated to at least HNC level in a relevant aviation related subject, or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship followed by a period of employment in aircraft maintenance & overhaul to gain the necessary practical experience for the job role
• An in depth understanding of the specifications and standards used to generate Technical Instructions
• Proven ability to form, motivate, manage and lead a team of highly skilled and experienced personnel
• Understanding of Airworthiness and Flight Safety requirements
• The personal and professional capability to operate at senior management level in both Customer and Industry forum
• Ability to build long-term relationships/partnerships with internal and external customers/suppliers to maximise business effectiveness
