Amazon is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to support our European Data Center infrastructure growth initiatives. Based in Madrid, Zaragoza, London or Dublin, the TIPM will lead cross functional teams to drive implementation and deployment of data center expansion projects to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business.

Our Technical Program Managers lead teams of internal and external stakeholders through all stages of the Data Center development lifecycle from initial site due diligence through construction and into operation. The core role of the TIPM is to deliver capacity for our customers by developing delivery programs and working closely with stakeholder teams to identify risks and resolve issues, ensuring those programs are delivered on time and within budget.

The TIPM partners with various stakeholder teams during data center delivery: Real Estate (site feasibility and selection), Energy (grid connection), Design Engineering (project inputs, constraints and risks), Procurement (critical equipment delivery), Construction Management (budget and progress tracking), and Operations (handover).

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces.
  • Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross functional and remote teams.
  • Travel up to 25% within EMEA.
  • Be responsible for end to end program delivery from pre contract design up to final handover to Operations of Colo, Hybrid Colo & AWS Leased/Owned Data Centers in the EMEA region.
  • Manage interface between internal teams (Real Estate, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Infrastructure Deployment, Networking, Operations, Security, Fiber, Finance, etc.) and external stakeholders (Contractors, Colo Vendors) to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
  • Build and maintain overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to senior leadership to secure finance.
  • Work with Capacity Planning, Energy and Real Estate teams to develop short and long term build strategies to meet forecast demand.
  • Support continuous process improvement through leading workflow updates, documenting and implementing lessons learned, and sharing knowledge across delivery teams to ensure EMEA wide efficiency improvements.
  • Regularly report to senior leadership on the status of key project metrics versus commitment of your projects.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience as a Program Manager in capital projects, physical infrastructure or mission critical environments.
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering or project management in Mission Critical facilities including, but not limited to, data centers, power generation, or oil/gas facilities.
  • Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers.
  • Experience working in a program management capacity and/or leading large scale complex projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders at various levels and in different locales to drive alignment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
