Job Description

For this reason, our professional team can offer you the most complete and specialized service in the Naval, Industrial, Oil & Gas and renewable energy sectors.

As Technical Director you will lead a team of about 120 people within more than 5,000m of installations & facilities in the Port of Las Palmas. You will report to the company CEO/ CTO.


Responsibilities

Direct and guide Dept Managers (Mechanical, Machining, Welding and Propulsion systems) in managing the technical service operations.

Provide support to the Tech Dept Managers in developing technical operations both from competency development and ensuring efficiency through process development and project execution.

Develop technical organization through recruitment.

Develop and execute strategy to further enhancing technical depth and execution capability.

Develop new service capabilities in line with companies' strategy.

Actively participate with the company CEO/CTO to contribute to development of the company technical operations.

Ensuring an efficient second tier management team is in place, with efficient /effective weekly follow up meetings, structured to measure, report and evaluate ongoing performance.

Responsible for Measurable Performance of Technical Operation which will include but not limited to factors such as achievement of predetermined financial and operational objectives and targets for direct and indirect cost expenditure, productivity and resulting profits for each technical department as separate cost centres.

Further ensuring continual improvement in all technical department's yearly objectives and strategies with regular follow up and measurement of the same.

Ensure an efficient system of continuous evaluation of the technical department staff and workers is in place assessing skill level and performance of the personnel with specific focus in relation to the company strategy.

Implement and maintain an efficient training program for the workforce with a maximum degree of multi-tasking and cross training to ensure a lean efficient workforce.

Participate in contract regarding sales for specific job orders and in particularly with respect to the hand over process. Where job orders are given directly, sales to be engaged for the appropriate supporting documents to be prepared.

To ensure that all "assets" required for Technical /Operations are always maintained in operational condition thru assisting /developing established routine maintenance plans by all departments.

Take a responsibility for assigned sales and marketing towards specific clients or specific jobs, to develop and/ or maintain relationships and alliances with specific customers.

Actively participate as part of the company Senior Management Team to contribute towards the development of the company, technically and regarding general business development.

Actively participate with the company Management Team in the Planning Process of the company and more specifically the Annual Operating Plan for the company, including Long Term Strategy.

Be able to prepare and supervise the proper execution of offers and tenders.


Requirements:

At least 10+ years in the naval repairs industry

Strong Mechanical Background

Some travel may be expected.

Languages: Spanish and English are needed. Any other language is a plus.
