Technical Designer - SolidWorks Permanent Full-Time

Salary - Circa £45,000 DOE
Location - In office, Leicester

We're excited to support a leading provider of innovative retail display and point-of-sale solutions, dedicated to helping brands connect with customers through impactful, high-quality design. With decades of experience, they specialise in turning creative concepts into engineered, manufacturable products that perform in retail environments.

Due to growth and high demand, they seek an experienced Technical Designer to create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. The role involves collaboration with design, production, and supplier teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective display solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating accurate 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks based on design briefs or client requirements
• Producing detailed technical drawings for manufacture, including BOMs, part specifications, and fabrication instructions
• Collaborating with teams to ensure design feasibility, functionality, and cost-effectiveness
• Participating in design reviews and providing engineering input for improvements
• Ensuring all documentation complies with standards, policies, and safety regulations
• Modifying designs based on feedback or material changes
• Maintaining version control and records of design files
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure component compatibility and resolve queries

Experience required:

• Proficient in SolidWorks 3D modeling
• Experienced in producing technical drawing packs for manufacturing (DFM)
• Experience designing retail or hospitality display stands, including POS, POP, end-aisle units, and branded displays
• Ability to conduct site surveys using hand tools or laser devices
• Knowledge of steel, sheet metal, and joinery product design
• Confident in client and supplier meetings

Package:

37.5 hours/week Monday to Thursday 8:30am-5pm Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
