This includes provision of robust infrastructure and IT service operations across the organisation and developing relevant, integrated, and optimised solutions that are scalable, commercially viable, and deliver long-term value aligned to the business strategy.As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for producing high -quality supplier exit plans, reviewing and improving operational procedures, and ensuring our support materials are both accurate, and easy for colleagues to use.Key responsibilities include: Partnering with teams across Infrastructure & Operations to pull together clear, practical supplier exit plans that set out what needs to happen, by who, and when, so we can transition services smoothly and without risk. Reviewing current operational procedures and support materials, refreshing anything that's unclear or outdated, and ensuring the content reflects current ways of working. Producing straightforward guides and reference materials that help colleagues navigate our processes without needing to "decode" technical language. Gathering detail from engineers and service managers, turning their technical knowledge into content people can follow easily. Keeping documentation organised, up to date, and version controlled, making sure it meets Quilter's standards and stands up to audit and risk requirements. Maintaining a clear, structured library of documents so teams can find exactly what they need quickly. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the Technology function in refining processes and enhancing cross team ways of working.# About You To be successful in the role, you will ideally have the following skills/experience: Strong background in writing clear, practical technical documentation ideally within IT Infrastructure, Operations, or a similar environment. Comfortable working with engineers, service managers, and SMEs to pull out the right level of technical detail and turn it into something easy to follow. Able to review existing processes with a critical eye, spot what doesn't make sense, and confidently improve or rewrite it. Good understanding of how IT services run day to day (incident management, access, device management, servers, networks, suppliers, etc.), or the ability to pick this up quickly. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple documents and updates. Experience using documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint) and keeping content structured and version controlled. Ability to ask sensible questions, challenge inconsistencies, and work collaboratively with teams to make sure documentation matches how things work in practice. Clear written and verbal communication skills able to explain technical concepts in a way people genuinely understand.
