We are looking for a candidate with experience of Control-M Batch Scheduling and job configuration. You will be an experienced, hands on Control M user who is comfortable working with different types of batch jobs, including configuration parameters alongside being a competent and effective stakeholder manager.
At Nationwide we openly put our 16 million members at the centre of every decision we make as a business. Every role, no matter what it's doing, is member focused.
The role sits within the Chief Operating Office (COO) function, and you will predominantly be supporting projects across all Nationwide mission areas, making sure we have the right applications configured in the right way to keep our systems performing at their best.

We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. Whilst this location is where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you're an internal applicant based in a different location we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.

Banking - but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society What you'll be doingFirst and foremost, you'll be a Technical Analyst. The majority of your time will be spent working on batch scheduling Service Requests, making amendments to existing jobs in the active schedule, while also making live new workflows following the change management process.
Using your background in Control M, you'll be working with other Batch Support analysts to make the amendments as requested by business users. You'll also suggest better ways we could take those actions to make them work more efficiently while simultaneously developing your own technical path.
Additionally, you will perform daily health checks across all our Control M environments, update Control M calendars, maintain the jobs on the active schedule, and manage general enquiries on Control M scheduling. There is potential for the role to develop into a more technical role for the right candidate and to cross over into the Control M administration team where you would undertake a variety of tasks on the infrastructure / platform side.
About youTo be successful in this role, we'd expect you to have/be:
Previous experience in using Control M for batch scheduling
Knowledge of Nationwide's batch scheduling tools and data processing cycles
Able to interpret large volumes of complex data
Experience in task management and liaising with other team members
The ability to quickly understand problems and provide root cause analysis and resolution
The required level of relevant knowledge and skills in an ever changing technical IT environment
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers' shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind.
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand.
Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development.
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes.
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
