Job Description

We are expanding our Technical Account Management team and are seeking an experienced TAM to deliver consulting services to Rackspace's Enterprise and SME clients.

As part of the TAM team, you will provide guidance and best practices to customers undergoing digital transformations. With a focus on innovation, you will engage with both new and existing customers, collaborating with the broader Rackspace organization to develop and deliver innovative solutions utilizing various public cloud services.

The core objective is to assist customers in rethinking their technical platforms and application landscapes, promoting the adoption of cloud-native technologies and driving innovation within their business.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct implementation calls.
  2. Present written and verbal proposals and grow the installed base. Understand invoicing, contracts, proposals, and renewals.
  3. Escalate issues with guidance and handle escalations. Demonstrate excellent creative problem-solving abilities and a desire to take on responsibility.
  4. Communicate effectively about customer technology capabilities, possibilities, and pitfalls - recognizing, understanding, and knowing how to fix issues.
  5. Coordinate with RXT teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  6. Identify gaps based on customer's current build and analyze future gaps based on proposed changes. Explain why specific options will work for customers and differentiate recommendations.
  7. Guide customers through how to implement options.
  8. Develop an advanced understanding of technology partners and how they can assist our customers.
  9. The TAM acts as the primary customer advocate, working with Rackspace cloud engineers, CSMs, and other stakeholders to translate business and technical objectives into Rackspace solutions.
  10. Provide impartial advocacy, ongoing support, and assistance for workloads; introduce innovative technologies and products; and offer value-added insights to ensure cloud efficiency and operational excellence in a hands-off role.
Required Skills:
  • First-hand knowledge or experience with industry competitors, products, trends, and technology (e.g., usage of competitor technology).
  • Advanced knowledge of scaling customer configurations using dedicated or cloud-based technology. Strong understanding of customer strategy and profitability, and proficiency with account management tools.
  • Professional qualifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Solutions Architect Professional (preferred), AZ-104 Azure Administrator, AZ-303/304 Azure Solution Architect (preferred), Google Cloud Associate/Professional Cloud Engineer.
  • Ability to drive the technical strategy of a customer's cloud-native transformation.
  • Strong working knowledge of company processes and procedures.
  • Deep understanding of the configuration build process.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
  • Strong knowledge of Rackspace products, including ability to educate customers on differentiators and appropriate scenarios.
  • Ability to prioritize a varied workload to maintain productivity.
  • Demonstrated innovative problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work schedule based on customer needs.
