Job OverviewWe are seeking a Technical / Maintenance Officer (also acting as Clerk of Works) for a 3-month contract, full-time, starting as soon as possible. The role is based in the Highlands. A competitive salary and car allowance are offered, and your own car is required.
Job Responsibilities- Provide technical support and oversight for building-related maintenance and construction activities.
- Act as a Clerk of Works, monitoring works to ensure they are carried out in line with requirements and standards.
- Interpret and apply information from Bills of Quantities, building contracts, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Understand and manage priorities across a diverse workload, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
- Coordinate effectively within multi-disciplinary professional teams to support delivery and communication.
- Deliver a customer-focused service, maintaining a professional approach with stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using relevant systems and online/cloud-based tools.
- Support planning and organisation of site/office activities to meet agreed timelines.
- Educated and experienced in a building-related discipline.
- Trade qualification or construction-related qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a construction-related post.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
- Highly computer literate, including Microsoft 365 and experience with Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using online and cloud-based applications to manage information and reporting.
- Ability to understand and work with technical drawings, specifications, and building contract documentation.
- Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary professional teams.
- Experience delivering a customer-focused service.
- Full driving capability and own car required for travel.
- HNC or HND education.
- Professional membership of a building-related industry body.
- Supplemental housing qualification.
- Experience within the housing sector.
- Knowledge of CDM and Health & Safety regulations.
- Ability to motivate others and support team performance.
- Interest in housing issues and the wider impact of housing delivery.
