About the OpportunityWe are recruiting for a Team Leader in our Environment business. Due to rapid growth in the civil nuclear and environment sector, we need support to deliver and expand our expertise. The role will focus on environmental strategy, assessments, and end state decision making for waste producers, management organisations and strategic authorities, both in the UK and internationally. The vacancy offers an excellent opportunity for those wishing to develop their careers in a technically and commercially challenging business.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Delivery:
- Environmental underpinning activities to satisfy regulatory compliance (e.g. environmental permitting, GRR, environmental management systems).
- Develop documentation for new build GDA Environmental Submissions, demonstrating compliance with environmental regulations and Radioactive Substances Regulation.
- Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments and/or conventional impact considerations for waste management activities.
- Undertake dispersion assessments for various media (air, water, soil).
- Undertake sustainability assessments.
- Support site end state development and land quality projects, including data gathering/analysis, options assessments and technical justification.
- Lead the delivery of high quality competitive proposals and build client relationships.
- Engage stakeholders.
- Produce concise and well written technical reports and present results to clients.
- Team Leadership:
- Responsibility for team safety, well being and career development.
- Manage frameworks and/or project portfolios.
- Achieve project profitability and team utilisation targets.
- Support wider business development and provide input on strategic direction of the team.
- Provide training, knowledge dissemination and mentoring.
- Understand client requirements and lead client relationships.
- Bidding for and winning work, including developing business development strategies.
- Grow the team and develop capability.
- Degree qualification (or equivalent training and experience) in an appropriate mathematical, physical science or engineering discipline.
- Significant experience in a comparable consultancy or strategic nuclear environmental focused role; experience of some of the technical topic areas described above, not necessarily all.
- Experience of bid leadership and proposal preparation.
- Ability to manage time and priorities while working on several varied projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including tailoring outputs to the requirements of different stakeholders.
