Job Description

Protocol Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming primary schools across Gateshead to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants for September starts.

Our partner schools are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children's learning and development. About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Help children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
  • Support pupils with varying abilities to ensure they can fully access the curriculum.
  • Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily classroom organisation.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, nurturing learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents to support children's overall development.
What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting (desirable).
  • Be patient, caring and enthusiastic.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be proactive, reliable and adaptable.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children's education.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
