Teaching Assistants/ Support Staff- South Liverpool

Milk Education is currently working with Primary Schools throughout the South Liverpool area who are seeking to appoint long-term and day-to-day Teaching Assistants/ Support Staff for positions to start in September 2026!

We are looking for people who have previous experience working with children in a school or child care setting. This employment or volunteering experience can be within the past 2 years and can include Nurseries, Youth Centers or working as a Support Worker with SEND Adults or Children.

The role includes supporting the class teacher in the day-to-day running of the classroom. This will also include working with groups of children and working with SEND Children on a one-to-one basis. The ideal applicant must be passionate, engaging, empathetic and supportive whilst using their initiative on a daily basis.

Bookings can be flexible to fit around your other commitments but you must have a minimum of three days availability in any given week in order to apply. We have roles that range from 3 days to 5 days per week and the working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher daily with the tasks they require you to undertake
  • Build a positive and supportive relationship with all children, colleagues and parents
  • Use your initiative and uphold strong behaviour management
  • Supporting groups of children and working on a one-to-one basis
  • Adapting your support style to suit all individual needs

To be considered for this role, we require you to meet the following criteria:

  • Strong English and Maths Skills
  • Previous experience/ knowledge of Phonics or be willing to learn Phonics
  • Previous experience of volunteering or working with Children in the past 5 years
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Two suitable references covering the last 2 years
  • Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
