Llangiwg Primary School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, caring and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil within our foundation phase. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a pupil with additional learning needs to access learning opportunities, develop independence and fully participate in school life. About the Role
The post holder will:
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil in our foundation phase, tailored to meet their specific learning, emotional and developmental needs
- Support the class teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum
- Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Promote the pupil's independence, wellbeing and social development
- Work closely with teaching staff, ALNCo, external professionals and parents/carers
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Have experience of working with young children, ideally within a foundation phase setting.
- Be patient, caring and able to build strong, positive relationships
- Have an understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
- Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork and a proactive approach
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Have excellent communication skills.
