Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Support

Axcis Education is currently partnering with a welcoming primary school near Smethwick, Birmingham, to recruit an experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled SEND Teaching Assistant looking to take on a new and rewarding challenge.

Role Overview

This is a full time position starting in September, working Monday to Friday. You will support children with a variety of complex SEND needs, helping them to access learning and thrive in the classroom environment. Working hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Pay rate: £92.63 per day.

Key Responsibilities

• Support children aged 4 to 11 within the classroom.
• Work closely with pupils with SEND, adapting support to individual needs.
• Deliver personalised, one to one or small group assistance.
• Develop positive and meaningful relationships with pupils.
• Maintain a calm and supportive presence in the learning environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Full availability during school hours, Monday to Friday.
