Axcis Education is currently partnering with a welcoming primary school near Smethwick, Birmingham, to recruit an experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled SEND Teaching Assistant looking to take on a new and rewarding challenge.
The school boasts modern, state of the art facilities and has achieved an 'Outstanding' rating from Ofsted. Its senior leadership team is dedicated to delivering exceptional education and support for every pupil.
Role OverviewThis is a full time position starting in September, working Monday to Friday. You will support children with a variety of complex SEND needs, helping them to access learning and thrive in the classroom environment. Working hours: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Pay rate: £92.63 per day.
Key Responsibilities- Support children aged 4 to 11 within the classroom.
- Work closely with pupils with SEND, adapting support to individual needs.
- Deliver personalised, one to one or small group assistance.
- Develop positive and meaningful relationships with pupils.
- Maintain a calm and supportive presence in the learning environment.
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Full availability during school hours, Monday to Friday.
- Free online training, including Safeguarding Level 2.
