TEACHING ASSISTANT
Location: Liverpool (L3 and around - City centre, Anfield, Everton)
Pay: £93 - £110 per day (paid fortnightly)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term time only)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Temp-to-Perm opportunities available)
About the RoleAre you looking to get your foot in the door at a local primary school, but don't have formal teaching qualifications? That is completely fine, we care much more about personality, patience, and a genuine drive to support kids than a piece of paper.
We are working with a brilliant, welcoming primary school right in the L3 area that needs an extra pair of hands to support classroom teachers across Key Stage 1 and 2.
If you are a recent graduate, a parent looking to get back into work that matches school hours, or someone with transferable skills (like care, youth work, or sports coaching), this is a great way to build real, hands-on experience in education.
What you'll actually be doing day-to-day:- Working alongside the teacher to keep the classroom running smoothly.
- Sitting down with small groups of pupils to help them with reading, writing, and basic maths.
- Giving a bit of extra 1-to-1 attention to kids who need a little extra encouragement or help focusing.
- Keeping an eye on things during break times and helping out with lunch supervision.
- No formal teaching assistant qualifications required.
- A calm, friendly, and patient approach-kids have good days and bad days, so resilience is key.
- Good spoken and written English so you can comfortably help with schoolwork.
- Any experience with children is a bonus (this can be anything from volunteering, babysitting, sports coaching, or care work-it doesn't have to be in a classroom).
- Reliability-the kids and the teaching staff rely on having a consistent face every day.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to apply for an Enhanced DBS check (or already have one on the Update Service).
- Great hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm means your evenings and weekends are completely your own, plus you get all the school holidays off.
- Local to L3: Easy to get to via local bus routes and Metrolink.
- Foot in the door: Perfect prep if you're thinking about doing a PGCE or teacher training in the future.
- Supportive team: You'll be working alongside experienced teachers who will actually guide you and help you learn on the job.
