EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Forest of Dean Area, GloucestershireStart Date: ImmediateContract: Full-Time, Until JulySalary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Reed Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Forest of Dean for an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team immediately until July.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children at the beginning of their educational journey. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide engaging learning experiences, encourage child development, and help create a positive and nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting.
  • Assist with delivering engaging and creative learning activities.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children's wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment.
  • Provide individual and small-group support where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children in an EYFS, nursery, preschool, or primary school setting.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS Framework.
  • A caring, patient, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Relevant childcare, teaching assistant, or education-based qualifications are desirable but not essential.
