About the School

This is a smaller-than-average, one-form-entry primary school serving children from Nursery through to Year 6. With around 180 pupils, the school offers a friendly and close-knit environment where staff can develop strong relationships with pupils and work collaboratively as part of a supportive team. The school places a strong emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing, independence and helping every child achieve their potential. Its most recent Ofsted inspection rated the school's early years provision, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management as Good.

Additional Needs Support
  • EYFS learners who are minimally verbal, supporting communication, engagement and early development.
  • KS1 pupils with autism, helping children access learning, develop independence and manage the school day.

The Roles
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated and engaging activities.
  • Developing positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Working closely with class teachers, SEN staff and the wider school team.
  • Supporting pupils to become more confident, independent and successful learners.
The Ideal Candidates
  • Patient, nurturing and resilient.
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Confident supporting pupils with autism, communication needs and/or SEMH.
  • Able to build positive relationships with children while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
  • Adaptable and comfortable supporting pupils across different primary age groups.
  • Calm and confident when managing challenging behaviour or emotional needs.
  • Reliable and committed to a full-time, long-term position.

Previous experience working within a primary school, SEN setting, specialist provision or similar environment would be highly desirable. However, candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
