About the role

Join Our Team as a Teaching Assistant!

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential? East Sussex Academy is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our growing team.

Locations: Newhaven. Salary: From £19,014 actual salary per annum (depending on experience). Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks). Contract: Permanent.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils, helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally. You will build positive relationships, promote inclusion, support behaviour for learning and make a real difference to young people's lives.

  • Support pupils in the classroom, one-to-one and in small groups
  • Help students overcome barriers to learning
  • Promote confidence, independence and positive behaviour
  • Work alongside a committed and supportive team
  • Access opportunities for professional development and training

We're looking for individuals who:

  • Have a good standard of education, including English and Maths
  • Can build positive relationships with children and young people
  • Are patient, resilient and empathetic
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Share our commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
