Job Description

Rikama Education Ltd are currently working with a SEN school located on the West Sussex/East Sussex/Kent border who are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants who can support with teaching and learning in the classroom.

Ideally you will have experience of working as a SEN Teaching Assistant with students and supporting a range of additional needs. In particular we are looking for applicants that are experienced in working with Autism and SEMH.

Ideally you will also be qualified to Level 3 (or working towards a TA qualification), have good literacy and numeracy skills, and the motivation and patience to support children with special needs.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities include:
  • To provide a safe, supportive and nurturing classroom environment
  • To liaise with the lead teacher in preparing the classroom
  • Support children with special educational needs and diverse learning styles.
  • Track and monitor student progression
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
The right candidate MUST have:
  • Experience of working with children or young adults
  • Knowledge of working with a range of additional needs such as ASD (Asutism) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) issues.
  • The right to work, without sponsorship, in the UK
