About this jobQueenswood School are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to join our education team. We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed people, who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages.
The successful candidate will be assisting the children with their work, supporting pupil behaviour, and establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
Queenswood School is located in Ledbury, Herefordshire, in a peaceful rural setting. It is an independent specialist school providing education and care services to children and young people aged 11-19 years with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and a range of additional needs including ADHD, attachment disorder, ODD, PDA, MLD, SpLd and ASC. Our aim is to unlock the potential of our students so they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to enjoy a brighter future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting pupils with their academic work
- Providing support with pupil behaviour
- Building positive and meaningful connections with pupils
- Participating in safeguarding and safeguarding training
Required qualifications and conditions:
- Full UK Driving Licence (may be required to go off site)
- Willingness to undergo safeguarding screening, including DBS checks, and to provide at least two references covering the last three years from work with children or vulnerable adults.
