Salary: £22,160.62 per annum ( not pro rata )
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent Term Time
Start: January 2026

As part of our continued growth, Bankside School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will support pupils with Autism and additional needs, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing, structured environment.

This is a role where every day brings purpose and impact. You'll build meaningful relationships, assist with personalised learning, and contribute to a school culture where every child feels valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll bring energy, support and creativity to every day-working alongside teachers to create inspiring lessons and meaningful learning experiences.

You'll build strong relationships, encourage independence, and help students feel safe, understood and ready to learn. No two days are the same, and every small step forward is a big win.

What You'll Do

  • Support teachers to deliver engaging, high-quality learning.
  • Work with students 1:1 or in small groups to help them access the curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help prepare resources, organise the classroom and support daily routines.
  • Assist with documents such as IEPs, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
  • Safeguard pupils and meet their physical and emotional needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team for a consistent, nurturing approach.
  • Work collaboratively with staff across the school to support each student's progress.

Experience/Qualifications Needed

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to record information accurately
  • Experience supporting students (SEN/ASC desirable)
  • A positive, resilient and proactive attitude

Bankside School is an exciting new venture near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Our new specialist school caters for students aged 11-18 years old with Autism, Complex needs and learning disabilities.

For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. You'll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit
