Teaching and Learning Assistant

Location: Derbyshire (DE56)
Pay Rate: £100 - £120 per day
Contract: Full-Time Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: ASAP

Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Teaching and Learning Assistant to join a Multi-Academy Trust in Derbyshire (DE56) that specialises in supporting children and young people aged 4-19 with Autism and learning difficulties.

In this role, you will provide targeted academic and emotional support, working closely with teaching staff and external professionals to help pupils access learning and reach their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is resilient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs across the 4-19 age range

  • Contribute to creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

  • Support pupils' academic development, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, external professionals, and families to deliver personalised learning plans

  • Assist with behaviour management strategies and therapeutic approaches to support positive outcomes

Requirements
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs in a school, youth work, or similar setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils

  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach when supporting children with diverse needs

  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed both academically and personally

  • Willingness to contribute positively to the wider school community
