Teacher (PMLD) - Maternity Cover

Location: Gateshead Start: September Monday-Thursday (Full Days)

We are currently working with a specialist provision to recruit a Teacher for a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) maternity cover role starting in September. This is an agency placement within a supportive and well resourced setting.

About the Role

You will be responsible for a small group of 3 pupils aged approximately 5-15 years. The role involves delivering highly individualised, sensory based learning tailored to complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver highly differentiated learning for pupils with PMLD
• Lead a small team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
• Work closely with external professionals including therapists and specialist teachers
• Support pupils' EHCP targets and overall development
• Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

Working Pattern

• Monday to Thursday
• Full-day commitment
• Maternity cover from September

Requirements

• Experience working with PMLD or complex needs
• Confident leading support staff within the classroom
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively with multi agency professionals
• QTS/QTLS or equivalent (preferred)
