Maths Teacher Oldham

£170-£235 per day

Full-time Long-term contract September 2026

Smile Education is recruiting a qualified Maths Teacher for a full-time, long-term position within an Oldham secondary school from September 2026.

You will teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, including preparing pupils for GCSE Mathematics. The opportunity is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs, although QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification is essential.

The school offers a supportive, values-led environment with high expectations for learning, behaviour and pupil progress. This is an opportunity to join an established Maths department and contribute to a positive and ambitious school community.

The role As the Maths Teacher, you will:
  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teach in line with the national curriculum.
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE Mathematics.
  • Assess and monitor progress, providing additional support or challenge where required.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils of different abilities, including SEND.
  • Maintain clear classroom routines and manage behaviour effectively.
  • Contribute to the Maths department and wider school community.
  • Follow the school's safeguarding policies and professional standards.
Essential requirements You must:
  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Mathematics within a UK secondary school.
  • Have strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4.
  • Be confident managing classroom behaviour.
  • Be professional, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.

QTS is essential. Applications from candidates without QTS will not be considered.

Pay and benefits
  • £170-£235 per day, dependent on experience, pay scale and responsibilities.
