Cornwallis Academy is a 'Good' school on the outskirts of Loose, Maidstone with over 1300 students on roll aged 11 to 18. Cornwallis' aim is to provide all students with the best educational provision.

We are looking to appoint a full-time outstanding Teacher of Geographywho can inspire and excite students in their learning of Geography. Youwill be joining a well-resourced department that is driven in our focus onraising achievement. Geography is a popular option at GCSE and the post offersoutstanding opportunities for continuous personal and professional developmentfor a highly motivated and ambitious teacher. This is an exciting opportunityfor an ECT or experienced teacher. The person appointed would besupported by the Head of Geography and the team of Geography specialistteachers. We also work closely with the other Humanity subjects tosupport progress and learning across all key stages.

As well as our state-of-the-art facilities, andinnovative teaching aids, we have an exciting programme of trips, visits,visitors and extra-curricular activities. The successful candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• The ability to teach Geometry up to KS4 and the potential fordevelopment of KS5 teaching
• Knowledge of the Geography national curriculum and relevantpedagogy for the key stage 3 curriculum
• Possess recent and relevant teaching experience
