Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking
• Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature, ensuring strong progress and outcomes
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners, providing appropriate challenge and support
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum and collaborate with colleagues across the department, school, and Trust
• Lead or support extracurricular opportunities that promote literacy and a passion for English beyond the classroom

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience of, or strong understanding of, teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4
• A passion for English and the ability to inspire and engage students
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• A reflective, collaborative approach to teaching and professional development
• Commitment to contributing positively to the wider school and Trust community
