Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only
Start: January 2027

About the Role

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver engaging, tailored lessons that inspire and support pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil can succeed.
• Adapt teaching strategies to overcome barriers to learning and maximise progress.
• Develop personalised learning plans and monitor individual achievement.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistency, encouragement and strong relationships.
• Celebrate pupil achievements and help build confidence, independence and resilience.
• Contribute to a supportive school culture that puts pupils at the heart of everything it does.

Who we are looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent required.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
• Creativity, flexibility and the ability to adapt teaching to individual learning styles.
• Patience, resilience and a positive approach to overcoming challenges.
• A commitment to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
• Experience within SEN, Autism, SEMH or specialist education is desirable but not essential.
• Experience or qualifications in IT or Music would be advantageous.

About Us

Hemlock Stone School in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire opened in March 2026, and caters for up to 66 pupils, providing a specialist learning environment for young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Complex Needs.

For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
