Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer

Pay: £15.06 • Hours: 37 hours per week (part-time 22.5 hours may be considered) • Location: Kettering (office-based with some remote working) • Contract Length: 12 weeks • Start Date: ASAP

Opus People Solutions is recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for a dedicated Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer to support their Environmental Health / Regulatory Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy service and play a key role in ensuring taxi licensing processes are delivered efficiently and in line with legislation.

Responsibilities

• Process applications for taxi and private hire licences.
• Provide advice to drivers, operators and members of the public.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on internal databases.
• Liaise with internal teams and external agencies regarding licensing matters.
• Support the administration of licensing processes for vehicles, drivers and operators.
• Ensure compliance with licensing legislation and council policies.
• Produce and issue licences within required timescales.
• Manage data in line with Data Protection requirements.
• Deliver excellent customer service across all interactions.
• Support continuous improvement within the service.

Qualifications

• Experience in taxi licensing or a similar regulatory/administrative environment.
• Knowledge of licensing legislation and processes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience using IT systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
