Our client based in Kilkenny is one of Leinster's largest non Big 4 accountancy firms. Their business ethos is focussed on providing each client with a high grade all round service. In addition to the traditional accounting and audit assignments, they provide tax and business consulting solutions. Their client base includes high profile indigenous companies and high net worth clients. Over the next 12 months, they are set to grow their business substantially. As part of their development, they are hiring a Taxation Director to work as part of their leadership team.
Tax ManagerThe successful candidate will assume responsibility for their tax division. The role will involve developing the tax division from a fee income and staff perspective. This will involve managing tax consultancy and advisory assignments. Additionally, as a key member of staff the successful applicant will be expected to work with the Partners to contribute to the strategic development and direction of the firm. This role will include
- Providing clients with high-level planning and consultancy advice
- Working with existing clients to develop new business opportunities
- Providing internal "update briefings", to professional staff across the firm
- Advising a "High Net Worth" clients regarding business and investment matters
- Dealing with queries from other tax personnel and Senior Management/Partners
- Overseeing compliance across all tax headings
- Development of "tax products" for clients
- Interacting with solicitors, other accountancy firms and financial institutions with regard to supporting their clients on complex tax transactions
- Review of client files to identify taxation issues and opportunities
- Meeting fee targets
- Assisting with developing firms image by the provisional of technical articles on Tax issues for internal and external publications
The candidate should have a number of year's experience managing a large client allocation. This may be within a large or medium accountancy firm. The role could suit a Manager within a smaller firm who feels that they need to integrate into a larger structure to develop their career or a Manager within a Big 4 firm who feels that due to the size of their current employer upward career progression may be slower.
