The Role Tax ManagerWe are looking to hire a skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will work in our income tax and corporation tax department and assist with consultancy projects. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing the tax compliance and planning requirements of a portfolio of clients.
The role requires in-depth knowledge of tax legislation, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe manager's main role will be to manage a portfolio of income tax and corporation tax clients. Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership and individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Conducting tax research on various technical tax matters, interpreting tax legislation and applying relevant tax codes to client situations.
- Assisting with tax planning initiatives by analysing client financial data and providing recommendations to minimise tax liabilities and maximise tax benefits.
- Collaborating with clients to gather necessary tax information, answer tax-related enquiries and provide guidance on tax compliance matters.
- Reviewing financial statements and other relevant documents to identify potential tax issues and propose solutions or adjustments as needed.
- Keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and communicating relevant updates and implications to clients and team members.
- Assisting in the supervision and training of junior staff, providing guidance, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development.
- Participating in internal and external client meetings to discuss tax matters, address client concerns and provide strategic tax advice.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of tax processes, procedures and systems to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional client service and identifying opportunities for business growth.
The focus of the role will be on corporation tax and income tax compliance. However, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to assist the consultancy team with ad hoc projects and technical support.
There will be opportunities to develop experience across a varied range of work, including:
- Insertion of personal holding companies
- Succession planning
- Company incorporations and foreign direct investment advice
On-the-job training will be provided in respect of consultancy work.

Experience and Qualifications- AITI CTA qualified with at least three years' post-qualification experience.
- An accounting qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Good commercial acumen and the ability to work directly with clients.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and planning capabilities.
- Self-motivated, with a desire to provide excellent client service.
- Experience with AlphaTax is an advantage.
