Job Description

T2M Resourcing has been appointed to recruit an experienced Tax Manager for a leading employer in the Southwest. This successful company operates in the UK and internationally, with a high growth trajectory. The Tax Manager will report to the Finance Director, providing strategic business support and tax subject matter expertise, leading a tax team to ensure rigorous reporting, compliance, and risk management.

This role could suit tax professionals currently working in commerce or those seeking a move from an accountancy or tax advisory firm.

  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, flexible hours with core hours from 10 am to 3 pm

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities as Tax Manager will include:

  • Ensuring the business meets its tax compliance requirements and manages tax risk proactively and commercially.
  • Reviewing corporation and VAT tax returns and conducting analysis.
  • Acting as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on all tax-related matters, ensuring awareness of tax implications and risks.
  • Providing technical tax support at group and local levels, staying updated on tax legislation and developments.
  • Participating proactively in business planning and commercial initiatives, including projects to improve systems, processes, and overall business performance.
  • Maintaining a tax risk register and ensuring adherence at local and group levels.
  • Managing and developing a high-performing tax team.
What are we looking for?

To succeed as a Tax Manager, you should demonstrate the following experience and attributes:

  • A qualified accountant or tax professional with significant experience in Corporation Tax and VAT.
  • Currently working as a Tax Manager or higher within a large commercial or tax advisory firm.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards within IAS, IFRS, or UK GAAP environments.
  • Experience with Transfer Pricing and Customs/Duty reporting is advantageous.
  • Experience managing relationships with HMRC and auditors.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • A proactive, pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • A high level of accountability and team focus.
