CRA Consulting are delighted to be working with this prestigious national accountancy practice in Sheffield to recruit an Associate Director in their Tax Department. This is a senior leadership role within the firm, ideal for a proven tax professional ready to play a pivotal role in practice growth, client relationship management, and strategic development. If you are currently working as a Senior Tax Manager and frustrated by the lack of progression in your current firm then this role could be for you .
Key Responsibilities include:
Client Engagement & Advisory
- Act as lead advisor on allcorporate tax matters, including group structuring M&A, and reorganisations
- Develop and manage a portfolio of high-value corporate clients, providing tailored tax planning and compliance services.
- Deliver strategic tax solutions to entrepreneurial businesses, owner-managed companies, and groups of companies.
Leadership & Practice Development
- Play an active role in the leadership and direction of the wider tax team.
- Support in recruitment, mentoring, and development of corporate tax professionals at all levels.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive team culture.
Business Development
- Lead business development initiatives to grow the firm's corporate tax client base.
- Develop strong internal and external referral networks and represent the firm at industry events and client meetings.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and work collaboratively with audit and business services teams
Technical & Compliance Oversight
- Provide quality assurance and technical leadership across corporate tax workstreams.
- Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory changes and lead client communication on relevant developments.
- Ensure rigorous risk management and compliance standards are maintained in all client work.
Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to the development and execution of the firm's overall strategy.
- Participate in partner-level decision-making, budgeting, and operational planning.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) would be preferred although applications are welcomed from individuals who are qualified by experience
- Extensive experience in UK corporate tax gained in an accountancy practice environment (Top 10, mid-tier, or strong local independent firm
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing a corporate tax client portfolio
- Strong technical expertise in UK corporate tax law, with an understanding of personal tax matters
- A proven track record inbuilding long-term client relationships
- Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial acumen
- Existing Senior Manager ready to step up to Associate Director
- Experience with entrepreneurial clients, growing SME's, or large private groups
- Strong network within the tax or professional services community
