Tax Assistant Manager - Mixed Tax

A well-established accountancy practice is looking to strengthen its Owner Managed Business Tax team with the appointment of a Tax Manager or Senior Manager.

This is a broad role covering both corporate and personal tax, giving you the opportunity to work closely with business owners, shareholders and private clients. You'll have responsibility for your own portfolio while getting involved in more complex advisory work and supporting the development of the wider team.

The Opportunity

The role offers a varied mix of client management, technical work and advisory projects, including:

• Managing a portfolio of OMB and private clients
• Providing advice across both corporate and personal tax
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting business owners with their wider tax requirements
• Advising on areas such as restructuring and succession planning
• Supporting transaction and property-related tax work
• Identifying opportunities to add value across existing client relationships
• Reviewing work and providing guidance to more junior members of the team
• Contributing to the continued development of the tax team

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualification
• Strong experience within a UK accountancy or tax practice
• Experience across both corporate and personal tax
• A background working with owner-managed businesses
• Strong client relationship and portfolio management skills
• Experience with advisory work beyond routine compliance
• Previous team leadership or mentoring experience, particularly at Senior Manager level
• A commercial and practical approach to providing tax advice
