Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: Grade 4, SCP 6-7 (£25,989 - £26,403 FTE). Pro rata salary £14,508.56-£14,739.68 dependent on years of service.

Hours: 21 per week, Monday to Thursday 10.00 am - 2.00 pm, Friday 10.00 am - 3.00 pm, term time only (38 pupil weeks, plus 5 days when students are not in school).

Contract type: Permanent.

Start date: 01.09.2026.

Queen's Croft is a 200-place secondary special school for students aged with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). The school has a range of students with needs such as autism, ADHD, and global developmental delay. Pupils mainly live in Lichfield, Rugeley, Tamworth, Cannock and Stafford, though around the region. Queen's Croft is part of the Primitas Learning Partnership, a medium sized academy trust; it is the only special school within the trust, alongside six other schools.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively as part of the whole school team to support teaching and learning of pupils.
  • Positive role model, upholding the school's vision and values.
  • Work under the direction, instruction and supervision of the responsible teacher, both in the classroom and wider school community.
  • Assist with care, safety and welfare of pupils, working with groups or individual pupils.
Qualifications
  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Evidence of qualifications and suitable references.
