About the Role
At Vantage, the Senior Vice President, Property Catastrophe is a key leader in our Reinsurance division. This role is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the Property Catastrophe underwriting function. The ideal candidate for this position possesses extensive knowledge of reinsurance property catastrophe underwriting, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of success in driving profitable growth. This role is based in our Bermuda Office.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities- Lead the underwriting of property catastrophe risks, focusing on integrating and optimizing capital via the Advantage ILS platform.
- Oversee and guide the property catastrophe underwriting team, fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Develop and implement innovative underwriting strategies to effectively assess and manage risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, brokers and investors to support business growth and retention.
- Collaborate with brokers, clients, and investors to negotiate and structure contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends, industry developments, and emerging risks to refine underwriting strategies and expand the ILS business.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and guidelines specific to ILS transactions.
- Collaborate on creating comprehensive reports and presentations, effectively communicating results, trends, and strategic recommendations.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Reinsurance Property underwriting, with a proven track record of success in senior roles.
- Extensive experience in structuring and managing third party capital arrangements.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance principles, practices, and market dynamics, with a focus on leveraging third party capital.
- Excellent analytical skills, with in depth knowledge of AIR and RMS, and the ability to evaluate complex risks.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and brokers.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and execute strategies that drive profitable growth.
- Professional certifications are a plus.
- Ability to adapt to change in a rapidly growing company environment. Vantage associates are expected to be curious and resourceful.
