Building Physics Engineer

London £40,000 - £50,000 (Dependant on experience)

My client is seeking a talented and motivated Building Physics Engineer to join their dynamic team. Day-to-Day

Your typical day as a Building Physics Engineer may include:

  • Running energy and thermal performance simulations to evaluate building designs.
  • Collaborating with architects and engineers to optimize building performance.
  • Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Reviewing project designs to ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
  • Contributing to BREEAM assessments, including gathering evidence and supporting documentation.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in building performance and sustainability.
Responsibilities

As a Building Physics Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting building physics analysis, including energy modelling, thermal performance, and daylight assessments.
  • Supporting design teams with performance-driven strategies to enhance building efficiency and occupant comfort.
  • Utilizing simulation tools to inform early-stage and detailed design decisions.
  • Providing input into BREEAM assessments, ensuring designs align with required credits and sustainability goals.
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, and clients across a variety of projects to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • A strong background in building physics, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in building performance modelling using tools such as IES, TAS, or similar software.
