Sustainability & Assurance Manager

Sector: Rail / Civil Engineering

Region: South Region including Wales & Borders

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Sustainability & Assurance Manager to lead our specialist team across the UK. This is a unique opportunity to shape environmental and social sustainability strategies within high-impact rail, civils and engineering projects.

Your Impact

As Sustainability & Assurance Manager, you'll drive our environmental and social sustainability agenda across the South of England and Wales. You'll lead a regionally based team of advisors and work closely with operational teams to embed best practices and ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shape and implement our company-wide Sustainability Strategy
  • Provide expert guidance on environmental legislation and best practice
  • Integrate sustainability into project design and delivery
  • Lead investigations and reporting of environmental incidents
  • Deliver training and development in sustainability and assurance
  • Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor site visits and reporting quality across projects
  • Champion regional initiatives and represent the business at key forums
What You'll Bring
  • A relevant qualification (Degree/Diploma/HNC/HND) in Environmental or Sustainability disciplines
  • Proven experience in civil engineering (ideally rail)
  • Chartered membership of IEMA or equivalent professional body
  • Strong understanding of legal and contractual frameworks related to sustainability
